My breasts were very challenging to operate on—uneven breasts, a narrow chest, and sagging—so the difficulty level was high. Wherever I went for consultations, they all said an inframammary incision would lead to better results, and they recommended going that route. But I kept visiting clinics because I wanted to find a surgeon who could confidently say we could do it through an armpit incision. Price, post-op care, and the size of the clinic all matter, but no matter what, the surgery itself was the most important. Dr. Kim Ji Yeon at Weshe said, “What woman would want visible scars? I’m confident I can make it beautiful with an armpit incision.” The moment I heard that, I booked the surgery right away, haha.

Honestly, Mentor implants felt the best to the touch, but because of my breast characteristics, every clinic I consulted said I should go with Motiva. They also all said my chest width was wide, so I needed a larger size for it to look natural—more like real breasts rather than something that looks “like implants.” So I chose Motiva!

Surgery Day

There was more waiting than I expected, so I was nervous only at first, but after that I didn’t think about it much.
Right after the surgery, the pain wasn’t that intense—more like extremely sore chest muscles.
Once I got home, the pain started to increase, but after taking pain meds and sleeping a bit, it improved. It definitely hurt more when using my body (lying down or using my arms).

Post-Op Day 2

The pain pump and the drains hanging off me were annoying, but honestly, it’s a hundred times better to have the fluid draining out than staying inside my body..^^
I didn’t even know how the drains were connected, but they were connected through the armpit incision. If you breathe calmly, they come out so smoothly—you barely feel anything. Not painful at all.

Overall, I only had mild, lingering pain and nothing severe, so I thought I’d be fine walking around—but it became too painful and hard to breathe, so I hurried back home. My body felt extremely swollen. I gained 4 kg compared to my pre-surgery weight—my face, hands, collarbone area, and especially my abdomen!!
They say lying flat makes swelling worse, so I alternated between a recliner and the sofa. If I lay on a regular bed with no support, it was definitely harder to get up.

Post-Op Day 3

You can remove the pain pump at home by yourself, and as soon as I took it out, the swelling in my hands went down immediately. I could wash my hair leaning forward and go out briefly.
I’d heard people say the compression bandage gets itchy and that scratching can cause scars—now I totally get it. It’s SO itchy, but you can’t really scratch it properly, so all you can do is hope time passes faster…
Luckily, I can feel everything when I touch the area, and I think I’m getting through it without major side effects. I can’t wait for the day I can take off the compression bandage!!!

Post-Op Days 4–5

At first, if I talked for too long, I’d get short of breath and feel tightness, and it was hard to walk for long. But once the compression bandage came off, it was sooooo much better!!!! I could breathe well and walk longer. The “hot” feeling in my chest also went away, which was great.
If it weren’t summer, I would have been out a lot more, but even walking indoors for a long time caused no issues at all. Seriously, haha.

From Day 6

I didn’t need any extra painkillers, and I could return to daily life completely normally!!!
Since everyone says breast surgery is extremely painful and each person’s tolerance is different, I took three weeks off work—but looking at how I’m doing now, I feel like I could’ve taken just one week off…
And with an armpit incision, I can’t believe I’m this fineㅠ Maybe it’s because the doctor’s technique is really good????
Maybe it’s also because I already had some breast tissue, but the feel is good, and people around me are already saying it looks so pretty!!!
