• Why I decided to get breast augmentation

From elementary school all the way into adulthood, I struggled so much because of my breasts. I never went to places like swimming pools or jjimjilbangs where you have to take your clothes off, and even when traveling abroad, I avoided any revealing outfits. It honestly felt like I was “stuck” to the ground from stress. I kept thinking I absolutely needed surgery someday.

I spent a long time reading reviews and considering surgery, but whenever I saw posts about side effects, I would scare myself and give up again. Then one day, I caught myself worrying that when I bent forward, people might see that I basically had no chest at all—and that hit me hard. That was the moment I finally decided to go through with it.

• Consultation and meeting the doctor

Because it was my first time, I felt awkward and embarrassed, but the consultant spoke to me naturally and made me feel comfortable right away. The consultation with the doctor was very quick. She measured different areas with a tape measure, checked everything, and then explained what cup size would suit me and what my breast characteristics were. She said I could likely achieve a full B to C cup.

Since the surgeon was a woman and everyone there was also female, I felt much more comfortable even when I had to remove my bra. Honestly, for OB-GYN visits and breast surgery, a female doctor is the best… ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

• How I felt after surgery

It wasn’t unbearable pain to the point where I felt like I would die, but it was uncomfortable to do normal daily activities. For about a week, I felt depressed and kept thinking, “Why did I do this?” But as time passed, it gradually got better—now I barely think about it at all.

• Aftercare

For the first month after surgery, I visited the clinic every week for follow-ups and received something like “omega therapy.” After one month, I went every two weeks, then once a month, then every two months. I also did caps treatment twice. Now I’m applying underarm scar ointment at home every day without skipping.

• Reactions from people around me

I had the surgery without telling anyone, so I haven’t really been able to see anyone’s reaction, haha. I went to the hospital alone, had the surgery, and even took a taxi home by myself.
